Amelia Jones

Amelia E. Jones, age 94, of Deckerville, died October 7, 2010 in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born December 24, 1915 in Delaware Township, the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Warczinsky) Deike. She married William Jones on October 19, 1937 in Detroit. He preceded in death February 28, 1977. She was a member of St John Lutheran church, Palms. She enjoyed cooking, visiting, playing cards, and she was very active in her church. She is survived by one son, Guy (Virginia) Jones of Reese, One daughter Mrs. Geraldine (Allen) Moffett of KY., six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, three sisters Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Belding, Mrs. Marie Jones and Mrs. Helen Amey both of Deckerville, also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Gordon on February 18, 1982, and one daughter in law, Janet Jones on March 8, 2007. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Amelia E. Jones will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor Henry Hales will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 pm Friday.
