Barbara Kay Schmuck, 72, of Lenox, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Barbara was born May 12, 1954 in Norfolk, Virginia to Kaye and Thelma Miller while Kaye was serving in the Navy. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, of 54 years David Schmuck; mother, Thelma Miller, children, Edith (Joseph) Harvey, Catherine (Timothy) King and Aaron (Jennifer) Summers; grandchildren, Jedidiah and Joanna King, Hannah (Josiah) Macko, Jacob, Abigail, Jackson and Ethan Summers, Patrick and Matthew Schmuck and Armando Maola. Barbara is preceded in death by her son Andrew Schmuck, father Kaye Miller and brother Gerald Miller. Barbara liked to be involved in the churches she attended over the years. She cared for many children through the nursery and children's church ministries at Faith Baptist of Warren and Columbus Baptist of Columbus. She also dedicated her time writing back and forth with missionaries that the church supported at Columbus. She loved to pray for other people no matter which church she attended over the last fifty-five years. At her death she was a member of the Faith Baptist of Northern Macomb congregation, through the live streams of the service even when she couldn't attend in person. Over the years Barbara enjoyed crafts, crocheting, diamond painting, and sewing. Many handmade gifts were received from her loving hands over the decades for friends, family and other loved ones. Her love of flowers and gardening decorated each home the family lived in. Many people would comment in Richmond about all the beautiful landscaping at their Lenox/Richmond home.
