Barbara Terpenning

Barbara C. Terpenning, age 79, of Sandusky, died Saturday, April 21, 2011 in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born August 1, 1932 in Port Huron, MI., the daughter of the late Lewis and Beulah (Tapsell) Anderson. She married L.J. Terpenning on September 17, 1955 in Port Huron. Barbara was a member of the Deckerville Bible Church. She enjoyed baking cookies for her family, baseball, going for rides to look at the area wildlife. She was a substitute teacher at Deckerville Community Schools for several years, and worked as a secretary at Teen Ranch and a receptionist at Dr. Javier's office in Sandusky. She is survived by her husband L. J. Terpenning of Sandusky, one son Jeff Terpenning of Three Rivers, one daughter Becky (Allen) Mater of Deckerville, two grandchildren, Andrew Mater and Ashley Mater, and two great grandchildren, Novalie Mater and Eden Mater. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Barbara C. Terpenning will be 11:00 AM., Wednesday at the Deckerville Bible Church. Reverend?s Jeff Homan and Arnold Bracey will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM., Monday and 2:00-9:00 PM., Tuesday in the Apsey funeral home, Deckerville.
