Bert H. Van Dyke

Bert H. Van Dyke, age 87, of Applegate, died Friday November 18, 2022, in Autumnwood of Deckerville. He was born June 26, 1935, in Detroit, the son of the late Bert and Lily (Kissane) Van Dyke. He grew up in the northern suburbs of the Detroit Metro area. He served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War era after graduating from high school. Bert farmed in the Applegate area, sold Real Estate and was an active builder in Macomb, St. Clair and Sanilac Counties. He was a member of St. john Lutheran Church in Pt. Sanilac. Mr. Van Dyke is survived by two sons: Bert T. (Carly) Van Dyke of St. Clair, Bruce Van Dyke of Applegate and one daughter Ms. Sue Huttinger of Ubly; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Christian and Aiden Van Dyke; one sister Ms. Sally Knarr of IN, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister Ms. Virginia Benson. Cremation has taken place at May Memorial Crematory.
