Betty Jean Fahs

Betty J. Fahs, age 86 of Sandusky, died Tuesday September 28, 2021, in McLaren Port Huron Hospital. She was born October 28, 1934, in Sheridan Township, Huron County to the late George and Mary (Laslow) Steadman. Betty grew up in the Sandusky area and attended Sandusky High School. On November 29, 1952, she married Bill Fahs in Sandusky. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2018. Betty worked at the Deckerville Community School for over sixteen years in food services. She did catering and at one time wrapped fishing poles. She was active for many years in the Girl Scouts, serving as a leader. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, quilting and her flower gardens. She is survived by one son Brian Fahs, of Sandusky; two daughters Vicki (Bill) Badgley of Ubly and Cathy Durand of TX; four grandchildren, Alicia Lambson, James Bennett, Kara La Vanda and Chris Fahs; five great grandchildren; one sister Maryann (Steven) Schermerhorn of CA; several nieces and nephews; two step-brothers Terry (Laurie) McNabb and Joseph McNabb both of Carsonville. Betty was preceded in death by one son Roger Fahs and three brothers, Robert Steadman, Steve Steadman, and Joseph Steadman. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Betty Fahs, will be held at 1:00 PM., Monday October 4, 2021 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 PM on Sunday and from 11:00 AM., until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville United Methodist Church.
