Bonnie K. Kirkpatrick

Bonnie Kathleen Kirkpatrick, beloved daughter of Robert and Rosa King, passed away

peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Sandusky, MI, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on July 29, 1938, Bonnie grew up during a time that shaped her early life with both

challenge and strength. Through her life experiences, Bonnie was deeply influenced by

her parents, a loving, hardworking couple whose unconditional love nurtured her to

become the amazing person that she was.

Those early experiences fostered a deep sense of resilience in Bonnie, along with an

appreciation for family, stability, hard work, and simple comforts of home.

Bonnie was the middle child of three-she shared her childhood with her older brother,

Bob, who preceded her in death and her younger sister Judy, who remained close to

her throughout their lives and currently resides in Sandusky.

As a young woman living in Croswell, Bonnie’s life took an exciting turn when she met

Bob Kirkpatrick at a dance hall in Peck. They married and together built a home, raising

a family, with hard work and dedication. As a farm wife, Bonnie was the heart of her

household—managing the daily demands of farm life while nurturing her children with

patience, warmth, and strength that never wavered.

Bonnie cherished her family above all else, proudly supporting her children,

grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in a menagerie of activities.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Steven Douglas and her husband, Bob.

Her legacy lives on through her children: Chuck (Karen) Kirkpatrick, Deb (Dan)

Woodard, Doug (Maureen) Kirkpatrick, and Kathy (Brian) Smith; her 13 grandchildren;

and her 27 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie lived a life of authenticity, generosity, and grit. She will be deeply missed and

lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service will be held to honor the life of Bonnie Kathleen Kirkpatrick on Saturday April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am in the McGregor Church. Pastor Jerry Griggs and Mr. Jeremy Van Norman will officiate.

The burial will be in Downing Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday April 25, 2025, in the Apsey Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 pm and Saturday in the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Memorial donations may be made to the McGregor Church or Downing Cemetery.
