Brenda Joyce Roelens, 74, of Palms, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2024. She was surrounded by her children, sister Darlene, and brother-in-law Bill Hoff.

Brenda was born in Sandusky, MI, on June 1, 1950, to the late Eugene and Delma (Hill) Portice. She was the fourth of six children. During her childhood, she embraced her tomboy nature and delighted in exploring the town of McGregor alongside her cherished friends and family.

She married the love of her life, Robert Roelens, on December 13, 1980, at East Marion Baptist Church in Deckerville, Michigan, and they were married for over 41 years. He preceded her in death on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. They enjoyed spending time with family and their date nights at the casino with his sister, Mary, forever chasing luck and laughter.

She spent over twenty-five years at Sanilac Community Mental Health and enjoyed helping others.

Her heart overflowed with love for her grandkids, and she loved attending and watching plays and sporting events to support them. A devoted follower of faith, she cherished her Bible study group and church community. She showed her gratitude for those who had served their country by sending cards annually to Veteran’s. She enjoyed the thrill of friendly competition at every family gathering and never missed a game of Pass the Ace.

Brenda is survived by her children Stacey Dutcher (Ana) of Pontiac, Treasa Dunlap (Tony) of Clarkston, Troy Dutcher (Bethany) of Bay City, Teri Dactul-Lauzon (Trevor) of Ontario, Canada and Becky Bullen of Ontario, Canada. 15 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, sisters Carol Samuelson and Darlene Hoff (Bill), brothers Roger Portice (Linda), Terry Portice (Phyllis), sister in-laws Mary Ready and Hazel (Craig) Clark,  and special family Alexandra Simonica.
