Candace Marie McGuire

Candace Marie McGuire, age 71, of Wales Township, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born on February 18, 1954, to the late Alfred Hollatz and Catherine Bodnar, (nee Arms), Candace was affectionately known as “Candy” to her family and friends. She had a spirited love for life and found joy in riding motorcycles, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She also shared a special bond with her cherished dog, Taz, who brought her endless comfort and companionship. She is survived by her siblings: Roy (Trudy) Hollatz, Shari (VJ) Severini, Jim (Karen) Gilbert, Rick (Becky) Gilbert, Ed (Barb) Cary, Ted (Lisa) Cary, and Norman (Lorri) Cary, along with sister-in-law Alice Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her brothers Brent Sheirk and John Gilbert.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Holy Family Parish, 79780 Main St., Memphis, MI 48041. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Macomb County Humane Society or Accent Care Hospice Group in honor of Candace’s love for animals and the compassionate care she received.
