David F. Blaine, age, 79, of Carsonville, passed away on Wednesday November 18, 2009 in Port Huron Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1930 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada the son of the late Elam and Cecile (Maisonnevuie) Blaine. The family later moved to Plattsburg, NY in 1932. He married Beverly N. Williamson on December 18, 1977 in Lansing. Mr. Blaine worked as a Nurse Anesthetist for thirty eight years in many hospitals in several states besides Michigan. He served as hospital administrator for Deckerville Community Hospital for seven years. He also was a volunteer for hospice. David is survived by his wife Beverly of Carsonville, four sons, David (Judy) Blaine of Deckerville, Steve (Amy) Blaine of Chicago, Mark Blaine of Orlando, Fla. and Jeff Blaine of Ocala, Fla. Nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren, one step-son Gary Sweet and one step-daughter-in-law Kathy Sweet both of Deckerville, one brother Raymond (Jean) Blaine and one sister-in-law, June Blaine all of Peru, NY., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Louis Blaine and one sister Mrs. Millie Davey, one sister-in-law Jeanne Blaine, one step-son Robert Sweet and one step-daughter-in-law, Denise Sweet. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of David F. Blaine at 11:00 AM. Wednesday November 24, 2009 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lexington, MI. Rev. Barry Sheldon will officiate. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City. Memorials may be made to the Deckerville Fire Department, or St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
