Dawn K. Grice, a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her, embarked on her final journey on September 22, 2024. Born on June 28, 1958, in Sandusky, Dawn's early years were the foundation for a life characterized by generosity, selflessness, and a warm, friendly spirit that would define her legacy. She transitioned peacefully in Deckerville, surrounded by the memories and communities she cherished deeply. Dawn's story is one of unwavering dedication and the kind of loyalty that inspires novels. She graduated with the Deckerville Community School class of 1977, her youthful aspirations as bright as her smile. With a heart committed to service and a work ethic that was unmatched, Dawn spent over three decades at Midwest Rubber Co., where she not only excelled in her career but also formed lifelong friendships and became a pillar of reliability and compassion. But Dawn's contributions extended beyond the walls of her workplace. She was also a devoted caregiver to her brother Harold, a role she undertook with grace and boundless love. Her selfless nature was her signature, a trait that shone brightly as she attended to her brother's needs with patience and kindness, reminding us all of the power of familial bonds and the beauty of human resilience. Her faith was as integral to her existence as the air she breathed. Dawn was a familiar face at the Deckerville and Pt. Sanilac Baptist Churches, where her spirit of fellowship blossomed. She lived her beliefs, reaching out to others, sharing her joy, and reinforcing the message that we are all part of a larger family, united by faith and community. The words "friendly," "generous," and "selfless" are often used to describe extraordinary characters, and Dawn was indeed the epitome of these qualities. To encounter her was to experience a warmth that could turn the coldest day balmy, a generosity that knew no bounds, and a selflessness that taught by example. She made each person she met feel like the most important individual in the world, for to Dawn, they truly were. Her laughter was a melody that could cut through the noise of life's challenges, and her presence was a comfort that many sought in times of need. Dawn's ability to see the good in everyone, to lift spirits with just a few words, was a rare gift that she gave freely and often. In her brother, Raymond Grice III, Dawn found not only a sibling but a kindred spirit. Their bond was a testament to the enduring strength of family, a connection that will continue to thrive in the stories shared and memories cherished. Dawn K. Grice's life was a masterclass in kindness, a journey that taught us the value of giving more than we take and loving without reservation. As we honor her memory, let us carry forward the light she has instilled in us. Let us embrace each day with the same enthusiasm and grace that Dawn did, for in doing so, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire. Her journey on earth may have concluded, but the path she has charted for us remains bright and clear. Dawn's legacy is a call to action—a challenge to live with open hearts, extended hands, and unwavering faith. Let us answer that call with the same zeal that she embodied, and in this way, Dawn K. Grice will live on, not just in memory, but in the very fabric of the lives she touched. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday September 26, 2024 in the Downing Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Griggs will officiate. Memorials may be given to the family. Condolences may be sent on line to apseyfuneralhome.net
