He was an avid car buff in his younger years and used to race a 1963 Plymouth at the old motor city dragway in New Baltimore and rarely lost a race in his class. After working at Chrysler for 9 years, he followed one of his buddies into the construction trade installing roofing and siding, (Dennis Roofing and Siding company) and later branching off into building projects for nearly 50 years. He not only taught his kids and brothers how to work on cars, but also the building trades as well. Even though he never shot a deer or turkey, he loved the hunting season when everyone would get together as Mom cooked big meals enjoying the fellowship together taking lots of pictures and building memories. He loved hanging out with his family out by the barn or porch listening to country Gold on Saturday nights, giving his grandkids cookies and going on casino trips occasionally.
