Duane A. Tanton

Duane A. Tanton, age 65, of Deckerville, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 in his home after a lengthy illness. He was born September 15, 1948 in Sandusky, the son of the late Irvin and Iris (McNeil) Tanton. He married Tracy Swoffer on June 11, 1999 in Sandusky. Duane was a Viet Nam veteran, serving in the US. Army. Along with being with his family, Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion Post 516. Duane is survived by his wife Tracy of Deckerville, two step-daughters, Melissa (Todd Laming) Howard of Sandusky, Kimberley (Jason) James of Deckerville, one granddaughter Maryssa James, one brother Ronald Tanton of Croswell, two sisters, Sharon Tanton of Brown City, and Nancy Brabyn of Croswell, also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Duane A. Tanton will be 11:00 AM., Tuesday March 4, 2014 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Chaplin Donald Ault will officiate. Cremation will take place after the funeral service at May Memorial. Visitation will be 3:00-9:00 PM., Monday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Home and Hospice or the family discretionary fund.
