Edward F. Pohl, age 87, of Palms, died on Wednesday February 25, 2009 in Covenant Health Care, Saginaw.
He was born September 22, 1921 in Palms, the son of the late Arthur and Elsie (Harnisch) Pohl.
He married Miss. Ester Flood on August 16, 1941 in Forestville. She preceded in death on December 14, 1994.
Mr. Pohl had a passion for farming, which he did all his life. He was a member of the MMPA and Trinity Lutheran Church, Forestville. He enjoyed playing Euchre and other card games, and especially loved to be with his family.
Mr. Pohl is survived by six sons, Ronald (Kathy) Pohl of Williamston, Kenneth (Barbara) Pohl of Westland, David (Grace) Pohl of Palms, Terry (Barb) Pohl of Fla., Leonard (Debbie) Pohl of Palms, and Richard (Mary) Pohl of Snover, four daughters, Susan DeLong of Ind., Jennifer (Dave) Corteville of Lowell, Jackie (Doug) Salowitz of Palms, and Jill (Pete) Creguer of Minden City, thirty grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, one brother Gerald Pohl of Palms, two sisters, Gladys Flood of Sterling Heights, and Betty Leininger of St. Clair Shores, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Helen Bergler, two daughters-in-law, Rose Pohl, and Janet Pohl.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Edward F. Pohl, will be 11:00 AM., Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Forestville, Pastor Richard Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Snay Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-9 PM., Thursday and 2-9 PM., Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home, your â??Legacy of Lifeâ?? funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Education Foundation, or Trinity Lutheran Church.
