Edward C. Thompson

Edward C. Thompson, age 66, of Deckerville, died Sunday January 24, 2021 at Covenant Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born January 8, 1955 the son of the late Edwin and Viola (Kursinsky) Thompson. He married Miss. Kimberly Norton on June 12, 1982 in Deckerville. Ed grew up in the Minden City area and graduated from Ubly High School in 1973. He was an area carpenter retiring from Kolar Construction. He enjoyed wood working, snowmobiling, and bowling. He was a member of the Deckerville Bible Church, serving as a deacon and was the head cook for the men's breakfast and drove the youth group bus. He was a member of the Tuesday Night Men's Bowling League and the Thumbs Up Snowmobile Club. Edward is survived by his wife, Kimberly of Deckerville; his son Justin (Ann) Thompson of Deckerville; four grandchildren Lilly, Kaylee, Olivia and William Thompson; five brothers, Michael Thompson of Deckerville, Timothy (Rose) Thompson of Clarkston, Daniel Thompson of Deckerville, Steven (Sharon) Thompson of Deckerville, Benjamin (Michelle) Thompson of Snover; three sisters, Kathy Haight of AZ, Rebecca (Gary) Stauffer of Dexter and Ann (Tom) Kinney of CO; sister-in-law Sharlene (William) Hendricks of Argyle; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Brian Thompson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Deckerville Bible Church. Pastor Dan Packer officiating. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family discretionary fund.
