Eleanora Abend, age 87, of Deckerville, passed away Tuesday July 17, 2018 at the Waterwheel Alternative Living Home in Jeddo. She was born March 5, 1931 in Carsonville the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (Drown) Cass. Eleanora grew up in the Carsonville and Deckerville area. She attended elementary school in Carsonville and High school in Deckerville She married Ralph Abend on September 24, 1949 in Palms. He preceded her in death last year on July 8, 2017. She and her husband farmed together for many years on their farm on Mills Road. Eleanora enjoyed her grandchildren, taking drives in the neighborhood, canning and playing cards. She is survived two daughters; Eleanor Ann (John) Lewis of Algonac, and Barbara (Larry) Eberts of Big Rapids; daughter-in-law Irene Abend of Nashville; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; her son Robert; two brothers, David and Bobbie Cass and two half-sisters, Lavina Waun and Cora Ohm. Funeral services to honor the life of Eleanora Abend will be 11;00 AM., Saturday July 21, 2018 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM., Friday and from 10:00 AM., until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Grace Hospice of Marysville.
