Frederick William Scherret, known by those that loved him as Fred passes away peacefully on July 25, 2024 in Deckerville. Born on September 25, 1934 in Port Hope, Michigan to Frederick and Agnes (Zick) Scherret, Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army and returned to his roots in Michigan when his military service was complete. An avid outdoorsman, Fred found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies but a way of life that he passionately pursued. Fred’s legacy will live on through the memories he created with those who knew him. Fred is survived by his children: Deborah (Mike) Lumel of Lincoln Park, William Scherret, and Ron ( Lynda) Scherret both of Port Hope, Michigan, Kathryn Cove of Bad Axe, and Frederick W. Scherret IV, Grandchildren: Phillip (Melanie) Scherret, Nicholas (Kenna) Scherret, and great-grandchildren Colson and Tessa. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his son Otto, and brothers Wilbert, Willit, Elmer and Edwin with whom he shared a great bond. Cremation has taken place per Fred’s wishes and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements entrusted to Apsey Funeral Home – Deckerville.
