Gary R. Reid

Gary R. Reid, age 76, of Forester, died Friday November 28, 2014, in Henry Ford Hospital, Macomb. He was born October 8, 1938 in Forester, the son of the late Ernest and Olive (Rich) Reid. Gary married Miss. Joyce E. Hawkins on October 21, 1961 in Port Sanilac. He was a member of Moose Lodge 158 Port Huron, Sanilac Masonic Lodge #237 F & AM, American Legion Post #4 Mt. Clemens. He loved to be with his grandchildren and tell them stories, most of which were not true. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gary is survived by his wife Joyce of Forester, two daughters Gayle (Richard) Bihary of Sterling Heights, Sandra (Jorge) Wong of TN, three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Constance (Wayne) Green of OH, and two nieces. He was preceded in death by one grandson. A memorial service to honor the life of Gary R. Reid will be held at 11:00 AM., Thursday in the Forester United Methodist Church. Rev. Ellen Schippert will officiate. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM., Thursday in church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Forester United Methodist Church.
