George Herman Bergmann, 87, of Goodells, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Wellbridge of Romeo. George was born on November 1, 1938, to the late George and Lillian Bergmann. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Judith Bergmann; his children, Jeanine (William Jr.) Gorski, Susan (Andrew) Gall, and Charles (Sara) Bergmann; and his cherished grandchildren, Thomas (Jennifer) Gorski, Kevin (Megan) Gorski, Anna and Jack Gorski, and Alyssa, Samantha, and Michael Gall. He was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Nathan Gorski. George is further survived by his brother, Robert (Margaret) Bergmann. George proudly served his country with two years of active duty in the United States Navy, followed by four years in the Naval Reserves. On August 6, 1966, George married the love of his life, Judith Tatum. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from Lawrence Technological University and built a long and successful career with General Motors, where he worked as a Designer in the Research Lab for over 40 years. An Eagle Scout and dedicated Scout Master, George had a lifelong love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin up north. In his leisure time, he also found joy in bowling, visiting the casino, and playing cards with family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 67055 Gratiot Ave., Richmond, MI 48062.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to your local Humane Society in remembrance of George.
