Gladys Mcarthur

Gladys McArthur, age 100, of Carsonville, died Friday August 12, 2011 in Cherrywood Nursing Home in Sterling Heights. She was born September 9, 1910 in Bridgehampton Township, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Thompson) Bowerman. She married Clifford ?Doc? McArthur on February 18, 1931. He preceded in death on December 19, 1986. Gladys was a member of the McGregor United Methodist Church, and the Women?s Society. She enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching the Detroit Tigers, and sewing, quilting, and canning. She is survived by four granddaughters, Elizabeth (Ken) Hunsanger of Troy, Pam McArthur, Laura (Curtis) Campbell, and Lisa (Fred) Burnham all of Troy, ten great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Mrs. Shirley McArthur. She was preceded in death by her son Harvey, seven brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Gladys McArthur will be 1:00 PM., Wednesday in the McGregor United Methodist Church, Pastor Jerry Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
