Glenn M. Russell

Glenn M. Russell, age 96 of Deckerville, passed away peacefully January 22, 2020 in Stonegate Village, Sandusky. He was born October 31, 1923 in Marion Township, the son of the late Roy and Ruth (Schubel) Russell. Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Mary Greene, and they were married for 57 years. He taught junior high social studies at Deckerville Community Schools for 30 years, crop farmed and raised cattle as well. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and loved golfing at Huron Shores where he and Mary were members for years. They were members of the Port Sanilac Methodist Church. He enjoyed being around people and while living at Stonegate Village in Sandusky, he scooted around on his Amigo making sure he cheered everyone up, breaking into song at any moment. He was a wonderful Dad, Grandpa and teacher. He is survived by daughters Marilyn (John) Linhard - Lexington, Kathy (Rick) Krauss - N. Carolina, and son Stephen (Debbie) Russell - Ohio, Grandchildren Susan (Darrell) Witham, Jennifer (John) Sotiroff, Errin (Jake) Wyse, Tracy (Jim Torres) Russell and Brett Young, great grandchildren Kate, Hannah and Megan Sotiroff, Madelyn, Lauren and James Witham, Derek and Ashley Wyse. Glenn is preceded in death by wife Mary, brother Eugene and sister Maxine Falardeau. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Glenn M. Russell will be held at 11:00 AM at the Croswell Wesleyan Church on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Pastor Phil Count officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
