Gloria M. Hoffman

Gloria M. Hoffman, age 86, of Deckerville, passed away Monday September 28, 2015 in her home. She was born November 10, 1928 in Windfall, Indiana, the daughter of the late Earl and Grace (McWain) Hewett. She married James Hoffman on June 26, 1948 in Deckerville. Gloria was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Deckerville. She was a graduate of Deckerville Community High School, class of 1947, and was the class Valedictorian. Along with raising her family, she helped her husband on the family farm, enjoyed her flowers, gardening, cooking, baking, and reading. She is survived by her husband, James of Deckerville, one son Ronald (Susan Linnea) Hoffman of South Carolina, two daughters, Linda (Mark) Spencer of Deckerville, and Kathy Sweet of Carsonville, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, three sisters, Donna (Richard) Miracle of Twinning, Teri (Rick) Valent of Whittemore, and Judy (Gary) Streeter of MO. Gloria was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and David Hewett and one sister Marlene Hewett. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Gloria M. Hoffman will be 2:00 PM. Thursday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Garavaglia will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM., until the time of service on Thursday.
