Grace A. Fockler-Kincaid

Grace A. Fockler-Kincaid, age 85 of Deckerville, died Saturday December 9, 2023, in Carol’s AFC home, Port Sanilac.

She was born November 30, 1938, in Yale, the daughter of the late William and Charlotte (Badgerow) Thomas.

Grace grew up in Carsonville and attended Carsonville High School, graduating in 1956. On August 18, 1956, she married Max W. Fockler in Carsonville. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1985. She then married Joseph Kincaid on August 1, 1985. He preceded in death on October 10, 2012.

She was a co-owner of Hale Insurance and later was a former employee of the Deckerville State Farm Insurance agency. Grace enjoyed knitting, sewing, playing cards and BINGO.

Grace is survived by one son William L. Fockler of Ubly; three daughters, Peggy (Steven) Abram of Ortonville, Maxine (Joseph Sr.) Kubik of Deckerville and Charlotte (Al) Fockler-Abbott of Minden City; nine grandchildren, Joseph Kubik Jr, Tony (Megan) Kubik, Corey (Samatha) Kubik, Michael Phillips, Jeffery Gerber Jr, Max (Tabitha) Gerber, Kayann (Nick) Beadles, A’Leah Fockler and Rachel Fockler; fifteen great grandchildren, two brothers Donald Thomas of Pt. Sanilac Charles (Sharon) Thomas of Port Huron and one sister Linda Corso of Ft. Gratiot. Sister-in-law Carolyn Thomas of Carsonville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister Cynthia Dew, one brother William Thomas Jr. sister-in-law Diane Thomas and brother-in-law John Corso.

Funeral services for Grace A. Fockler-Kincaid will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday December 14, 2023, in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Vickie Smith will officiate. Cremation will follow after the funeral service with burial in Downing Cemetery in the spring.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
