Harold Merle Michaels

Harold Merle Michaels, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, strength, and a deep commitment to those he loved. He will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, sense of humor, and the many lives he touched throughout his 94 years. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. His military service was an important chapter in his life and reflected his dedication to serving something greater than himself. He carried the values of duty, honor, and perseverance throughout the years that followed. Harold and his beloved wife, Lillian, shared 56 years of marriage. Lillian preceded him in death in 2020. Their life together was filled with love, family, and cherished memories that Harold carried with him throughout the years. Harold enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had many hobbies that brought him happiness. He bowled on various teams for over 50 years, forming friendships and memories along the way. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, collecting coins, and spending time in his garden. He took great pride in growing tomatoes—and according to those lucky enough to eat them, he grew the very best tomatoes! His days were often made special by the little things: a good cup of morning coffee, watching westerns on television, and keeping a watchful eye on the birds visiting his feeders. Harold knew how to appreciate life's quiet moments and found happiness in the familiar routines that made a house feel like home. Above all, Harold cherished his family. He took great pride in the people he loved and treasured the time they spent together. He is survived by his children: Brian and his wife, Linda, of Oregon; Marilyn and her husband, Tim, of Texas; and Yvonne and her husband, Michael, of Washington. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Harold will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his memory and the example he set will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Service on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Peshek Family Funeral Home, 3467 Main St., Deckerville, Michigan 484

Following the services, family and friends are invited to gather at New Grounds Café, located across from the funeral home, for coffee and sweet breakfast treats and an opportunity to share memories, stories, and fellowship.
