Ilene L. Morrison

Ilene L. Morrison, age 82, of Deckerville, passed away Sunday February 18, 2018 in McLaren Hospital, Lapeer. She was born February 9, 1936 in Kinde, MI., the daughter of the late Earl and Ellanora (Smith) Smeader. She married Ronald B. Morrison on December 10, 1955 at the Cedardale United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2008. Ilene was a former employee of the Deckerville Community Hospital where she was a dietician. She enjoyed cooking, baking, going to lunch with her friends, gardening and traveling. She was a member of the Deckerville United Methodist Church Mrs. Morrison is survived by four children, Debbie (Wayne) Seres of Croswell, Kathy (John) Arnold of St. Clair, David Morrison of Palms, and Steven (Faye) Morrison of North Branch; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester (Theresa) Smeader of Bad Axe and Edward (Jeanette) Smeader of Montrose; one sister Mrs. Margaret Ann Wruble of Mt. Clemons, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Nevin of South Rockwood; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Smeader, Jerome Smeader, Eugene Smeader and Robert Smeader. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ilene L. Morrison will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor John Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 PM-9:00 PM and 10:00 AM Wednesday until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville United Methodist Church, United Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
