James Lee Williamson, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, embarked on his final journey on September 5, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on March 14, 1936, in Detroit, MI, Jim was a beacon of light and strength, illuminating the lives of all who had the privilege of crossing his path. He drew his last breath surrounded by the love of his family in the peaceful town of Forestville, MI. Jim's life was a testament to his unwavering spirit and enduring love. Married to his beloved wife Terry for 38 glorious years, he was a devoted husband and a pillar of support. His legacy continues through his daughters, Jennifer Galbreath, Jamie Clink, and Samantha Swartz; his sister Suellen; his cherished grandchildren Savanah, Carson, Layla, Wade; and his great-grandson Ryett, who all carry a piece of his heart and spirit within them. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Jim served his country with honor in the US Navy. His dedication to service was a profound expression of his love for his nation and its people. After his military tenure, he continued to showcase his work ethic and commitment at the Ford Motor Company, where for 35 years, he not only contributed to the industry but also forged lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. Jim's life outside of work was marked by an infectious enthusiasm for the world around him. His interests were as vast as the open sky, and he reveled in creating unforgettable memories with his family and friends. Jim was a steward of his home, a lover of the great outdoors, and had a passion for music that was as deep as the ocean he once sailed. His presence was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those he met, leaving a harmonious imprint that would last a lifetime. To say that Jim was friendly, loving, and selfless would be to utter a profound truth. He approached life with the zeal of a man who knew the value of each day and the importance of each human connection. His smile was an open invitation to friendship, and his actions were the embodiment of love in motion. Selflessness was not just a word to Jim; it was a way of being, a path he walked every day, leaving footprints of generosity and kindness for others to follow. Jim's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his story is far from over. It continues in the laughter of his grandchildren, in the strength of his daughters, in the warmth of Terry's smile, and in the countless lives he touched. He was a man who didn't just live but lived well, with purpose and joy. His narrative is one of triumph, not tragedy—a celebration of a life so beautifully lived that it serves as a compass for us all. In every sunrise, we can see Jim's bright disposition; in every blooming flower, his love for life; and in every star that lights the night sky, his enduring presence. He was a man who taught us that the true measure of wealth is not in what we have, but in the relationships we cherish, the memories we make, and the love we share. As we bid farewell to James Lee Williamson, let us not dwell on the sorrow of his parting but rather be inspired by the essence of his being. Let us honor his memory by living our lives with the same passion, kindness, and generosity that he so effortlessly embodied. Jim's story encourages us all to leave an imprint on the world, one heart at a time, and to celebrate every moment as the precious gift that it is. Fly high, Jim, and know that your story is far from over. It is just beginning in the hearts of those you've left behind, who will carry your legacy forward with admiration and love. Your life was a masterclass in humanity, and your memory will forever be a beacon of hope and inspiration. Thank you, Jim, for everything. A memorial service to honor the life of Jim will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday in the Port Sanilac SDA Church 123 Whitney Street Port Sanilac, MI 48469
