Janet M. Doty

Janet May Doty, age 82 of Deckerville, passed away Sunday April 17, 2022, at Granny's Delight Assisted Living in Brighton Michigan with her Family at her side. She was born March 22, 1940, in Jackson Michigan, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Myrtle (Briggs) Nichols. On March 22, 1969, she married William Doty. He preceded her in death September 18, 2021. She worked for the Human Development Commission at the Deckerville location as site Manager for about 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with the people who would come into the site for meals and entertainment. Janet loved doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She loved to go for car rides to nowhere and just sit and talk. She loved watching the Old Western Movies, and was an avid reader, until her eyes no longer allowed her to see the pages clearly. She also loved her coffee! She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Janet is survived by her two sons, Bruce (Ginger) Doty of Brighton, Henry (Kelly) Doty of OH; three daughters, Deborah (Richard) Caldwell of Flint, Dawn (Ed) Zapinski of Deckerville, Wendy (Mike) Galloway of IL. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Doty, her son, William Doty Jr., her parents, Lawrence and Myrtle Nichols, three sisters, Dora Nichols, Shirley Churches, and Nancy Olson. Four Brothers, Hollis Nichols, Chuck Nichols, Rocky Nichols, and Jerry Nichols. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Events Details are pending.
