Joan K. Simpson

Joan K. (knee Farrell) Simpson, age 80 of Deckerville, passed away Saturday October 28, 2017 in her home. She was born December 5, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth (Tracy) Farrel. On December 2, 1978 she married John P. Simpson, together they raised six children. Joan enjoyed her family, painting, gardening, and being on the water. She is survived by her husband John (Jack) Simpson; four daughters, Donna (Ronald) Waegenaere, Diana Baxter, Dawn Bednarchick, Danielle (Pete) Oresky; two sons, David (Alana) Simpson and Scott (Michelle) Simpson; 10 grandchildren, Jill, Neil, Amber, Jake, Peter, Ana, Connor, Ryan, Samantha, and Stephanie; three great grandchildren, Luke, Myles, Louis; one sister, Marilyn (Ray) Lams. Joan was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Farrell and Larry Farrell. A memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Joan K. Simpson, will be held at 11:00 AM., Saturday November 4, 2017 in St. Blasé Catholic Church, Sterling Heights. Fr. Randy Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30 until the time of Mass. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the donor's choice.
