John R. Mcconnachie

John R. McConnachie, age 88, of Deckerville, died Wednesday January 4, 2023 in the Deckerville Community Hospital. He was born September 5, 1934, in Deckerville, the son of the late Gordon and Gertrude (Howard) McConnachie. On September 18, 1954, he married Miss. Edna Sanford in Deckerville. John graduated from Deckerville Community High School Class of 1952. He was a fourth-generation lifelong farmer. He and Edna enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida after their retirement. They attended the Deckerville Bible Church. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Edna, two sons David (Sally) McConnachie and Micheal (Gail) McConnachie; daughter in law Patricia McConnachie all of Deckerville; ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and number 21 due in June 2023; one sister Marge (Dale) Schillings of Freeland and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Gordon: and one brother Raymond. Funeral services to celebrate the life of John R. McConnachie will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 7, 2023, in the Deckerville Bible Church. Pastor Daniel Packer will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 PM Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home, and 10:00 AM until the time of service at church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Bible Church, Deckerville Community Hospital or Downing Cemetery.
