John Murray Rhoades

John Murray Rhoades Jr., 79, of Richmond, Michigan, passed away on May 6th 2026 at St. John’s Hospital, Grosse Pointe, MI surrounded by his family. Born on April 7, 1947 in Chester, PA, John was the son of John Sr. and Sara (News) Rhoades. He graduated from Chester High School, PA. He served in the US Air Force from 1965 -1971 and later worked in base supply at Selfridge Airbase for 30 years. He retired in 1998 but worked part time for Richmond Community Schools. John was a passionate sports enthusiast. He will be remembered for unwavering sense of humor, his love of the Eagles and Flyers, and for his love for his family. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith (Caughell); daughter, Amanda (Jay) Neaves and granddaughter, Kate. He is also survived by sister, Elizabeth Hausmann and nephews John and Michael and niece Kathy. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothy and nephew Charles.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 4:00 p.m. at the Peshek Family Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.
