John Jacob Tobi

John J. Tobi, age 92, of Deckerville, died Friday April 1, 2022, in Blue Water Hospice, Marysville. He was born June 16, 1929, the son of the late Anthony and Susan (Michaels) Tobi. He grew up in the Deckerville area and attended Deckerville High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp. He was a former employee of Yale Rubber and Sanilac County working in the Equalization Office. On January 21, 1950, in married Miss Mona June Rich in Deckerville. John enjoyed playing golf and doing yard work. He is survived by his grandchildren, Ryan (Kelly) Flanagan of Deckerville; Lisa (Don) Lieb of South Lyon, Lorie (Chris) Soule of Croswell; five great grandchildren McKenzie Heft, Madison Heft, Branden Soule, Courtney Soule and Emilie Flanagan; and son-in-law Larry Flanagan of Deckerville; and his sister Mrs. Katherine (Tom) Innes of Deckerville. He was preceded in death by his wife Mona, daughter Yvonne Flanagan, his brother Anton and sisters Sally Albright and Elizabeth Price and great granddaughter Alexandria Heft. Visitation will be Thursday April 7,2022. From 1pm till 3pm. Funeral Service at 3pm Thursday April 7,2022. at the Apsey funeral home.
