Keith Walter McVittie, age 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 28, 2024.  He was born August 6, 1949 in Sandusky, Michigan to the late Walter and Marion [Delong] McVittie.  He graduated from Deckerville Highschool in 1967.  He served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) from April 3, 1969 to March 15, 1973. On August 6, 1994 he married Rhoda Thompson Cahoon in Deckerville, Michigan.

Keith co-owned a small family dairy farm with his brother Arnold and nephew Scott until 200o. Keith then went to work with his son Michael McVittie in his construction business in Midland.  His last job was with Tubbs Brothers in Sandusky.  He was a faithful member of the Deckerville Bible Church where he served for many years as Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday morning worship leader.

Keith is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years Rhoda McVittie, his children: Michael McVittie of Midland, Samantha (Chris) Pasztor of Redford, Caroline Cahoon of Grand Rapids, and Sarah (Steve) Rice of Zeeland; 8 grandchildren: Zachary (Madyson) McVittie, Alina McVittie, Alex McVittie, Cody McVittie, Gabrielle Pasztor, Andrew Pasztor, Katelyn Rice, Michaela Rice, and Caleb Rice.

Keith is also survived by his sister Kathy (Bob) Lee, sister-in-law Naomi Laskowski, brother-in-law David (Sherry) Thompson, brother-in-law Vernon Thompson, sister-in-law Julie (Brian) Williams, and brother-in-law Roger (Pamela) Thompson as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter June, brother and sister in-law Arnold and Sally McVittie, brother and sister in-law Jim and Deanna McVittie, sister-in-law Debbie James, and brother-in-law Jim Laskowski.

Funeral service 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Deckerville Bible Church, where family and friends may visit Noon till time of service.  Pastor Daniel Packer officiating. Visitation 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Apsey Funeral Home – Deckerville.   Memorial contributions in memory of Keith may be made to the Deckerville Bible Church or Grace to You (GTY.org )
