Mrs Leola Phillips

L. Leola Kritzman Phillips, age 93, of Deckerville, died Tuesday July 16, 2013 in her home. She was born April 24, 1920 in Argyle Township the daughter of the late Jacob D. and Freda B. (Behr) Kritzman. She married Curtis Phillips on June 3, 1942 in Utica. He preceded in death on August 18, 1994. Leola graduated from Sandusky High School. She enjoyed flying trips to Northern Michigan, painting and sewing. She is survived by one son, Robert (Elaine) Phillips of Sandusky, two grandsons, John (Mikel) Phillips of Nashville, TN., and Chris (Irene) Phillips of Deckerville, two great grandchildren, Riva and Guy Curtis Phillips, one brother-in-law, Edwin Smith Jr., of Flushing and one sister-in-law, Theresa Kritzman of Florida, one niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Kritzman, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace "Toots" Smith, and Mrs. Betty Amey. Funeral services to celebrate the life of L. Leola Kritzman Phillips will be 1:00 PM., Saturday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. David Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 PM., Friday and 11:00 AM., until the time of services at 1:00 PM., Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Community Center, or Deckerville Historical Museum.
