Leonard Burgett, age 95, of Deckerville, died Monday April 7, 2008 in Autumnwood of Deckerville.
He was born September 3, 1912 in Austin Township the son of the late Ambrose and Louise (Lorenz) Burgett.
He married Helen Crowe who preceded him in death. He then married Lillian E. Redfield who preceded him in death in 2005.
Mr. Burgett was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army, Pacific Theatre. He was retired from the C&O Rail Road. He loved wood working and country music, especially the Heritage Music Makers when they would play at various places around the county.
He is survived by two brothers, Leslie Burgett of Sandusky, Joseph Burgett of Prudenville, one sister Mrs. Catherine Bezemek of Decker, two step-sons, Emery (Betty) Redfield of Snover and Steven Redfield of Prescott and one step-daughter Glendora (William) Doetsch of Pt. Huron, also, several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Leonard Burgett will be 11:00 AM., Thursday in the Apsey Funeral Home, your ?Legacy of Life? funeral home. Pastor Lucy Pelc will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-9:00 PM., Wednesday.
