Lois Jean (Crittenden) Jensen, 86, formerly of Deckerville, passed away peacefully of natural causes on the evening of Saturday January 14, 2017 with her family at her side where she very happily lived for the last four months at Martinez Retirement Home in Sandusky. Lois is survived by her two sons, Lee (Louise) Jensen and Lance (Peggy) Jensen; her daughter, Laurie (Terry) McNabb; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Eleanor (Scripps) Crittenden; her sisters, Carol (Crittenden) Sinclair and Joann (Crittenden) Hooker; her daughter Lynn (Jensen) Wolf; her grandson, Matthew James Jensen; and her beloved dachshund, Honey.
Lois was born January 5, 1931 in Royal Oak, Michigan and moved to Deckerville in 1967 where she enjoyed a long career at Deckerville Community Schools serving for over 25 years as a school bus driver, recess and lunch lady, office aide, and lifeguard during the summer. She went on to give of herself as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Project Blessing. She was also employed at Deckerville Pine House for several years, and a number of other retail and human service related jobs in the area. Lois was a member of the Women's Bowling League for several years. She also loved baseball, traveling, shopping, swimming, camping, cooking/baking/canning for her family, and spending time with her friends.
In honor of Lois's wishes there will be a private inurnment at the Downing Cemetery in Deckerville. Lois had an extraordinary sense of humor, a wonderfully infectious giggle, and was never without a smile on her beautiful face. She was deeply loved and will be remembered every day by her family, many dear friends, and those whose lives she touched.
