Lucas J. Smith

Lucas J. Smith, age 10, of Deckerville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday August 6, 2015 in McKenzie Memorial Hospital. He was born March 6, 2005 in Sandusky, the son of Devon and Vicki Smith. Lucas would have been a 5th grade student. He enjoyed farming with his cousins, swimming, horseback and ATV riding. He is survived by his parents, Devon and Vicki Smith of Deckerville, two sisters Sara and Tricia Smith both of Big Rapids, Grandfather Wayne Williamson of Deckerville, aunts and uncles, Robin and Doug Knoerr, Valerie and Dan Liebler, and two cousins, Bradley and Kyle Knoerr. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Connie Smith, and maternal grandmother Fern Williamson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Am., Saturday August 22, 2015 at the 1st Baptist Church of Deckerville. Pastor Jedidiah Willis will officiate. Burial has taken place in the Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM., in the church August 22. Memorials may be given to the family discretionary fund.
