Mabel Bittner

Mabel D. Bittner, age 89, of Palms, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday November 8, 2009. She was born June 5, 1920 in Bell Buckle, TN., one of eleven children born to the late Ernest and Lockie (Powell) Smith. She was married to William Bittner Sr., for 51 years before his death on July 5, 1989. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Van Dyke, MI., and a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Forestville. Mrs. Bittner is survived by one son William Bittner Jr. of Sandusky, two daughters, Jeanne (Samuel) Chen of Deckerville, and Brenda (Terry) Boyer of Lansing, one brother Phillip Smith of Bell Buckle, TN., seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a latter date. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were by the Apsey Funeral Home.
