Margaret Thompson

Margaret Thompson, age 80, of Deckerville, passed away Sunday March 22, 2020 in the Deckerville Community Hospital. She was born March 12, 1940 in Argyle the daughter of the late Floyd and Alberta (Ingram) Roberts. Margaret graduated in 1957 from Deckerville Community School. She owned and operated the Coffee Cup restaurant in Deckerville for some time. She later attended Perdue University and received her certificate becoming an X-Ray tech. She worked for many years at the Deckerville Community Hospital, McKenzie Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Mark English in Port Sanilac as a Medical Assistant. She married Daniel Thompson on September 20, 1980 at the Wheatland Missionary Church. Margaret loved music and played the organ and piano in churches for Sunday services, weddings and funerals for over 60 years. She first performed publicly when she was fourteen years old. She also loved to bird watch in her back yard and be with her family. Margaret was a member of the Deckerville Bible Church. She is survived by her husband Daniel of Deckerville; three sons Jim (Laurie) Terpenning of Port Sanilac; Dan (Tracey) Thompson Jr. of Port Huron, and Chris (Sarah) Thompson of Marlette; one daughter Mary (Don Cork) Terpenning of Peck; four grandchildren Jennifer (Jonathon) Loss, Scott (Allison) Hartsell, Greg (Carrie Pratt) Hartsell and Sophie Thompson; along with several great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Muriel Thayer of CA; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law Winnie Roberts of Sandusky. She was preceded in death by two brothers Keith Roberts and Bryce Roberts and one brother-in-law Dale Thayer. A memorial service to honor the life of Margaret Thompson will be held Saturday June 27, 2020 in the Deckerville Bible Church at 2:00 PM. Pastor Daniel Packer will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Deckerville Bible Church or Gideon's International.
