Marian J. Hooper, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Deckerville, at the age of 88. Born on May 8, 1937, in Owosso, Michigan, Marian's life was a tapestry of love, service, and dedication to her family and community.

Marian's journey began as the cherished daughter of Clyde and Grace (Crawfis) Woodard. Her early years in Owasso were filled with the simple joys of family and discovery, setting the stage for a life rich in faith and compassion. After graduating from Evart High School, Marian furthered her education by earning an Associate degree, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning.

Marian's heart found its match in Gerald Hooper, and the two were united in marriage on May 21, 1960, in Gladwin, Michigan. Their union was blessed with three sons: Stephen (Susan), Douglas (Laurie), and Timothy (Rebecca). As a mother, Marian instilled in her children the values of love, integrity, and generosity. She relished her role as a grandmother to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Marian's brothers Kenneth (Phyllis), Ralph (Carol), and Duane (Dawn) Woodard, along with brother-in-law Stuart (Dawn) Hooper, shared in the many memorable moments of Marian's life journey. Her family circle extended to include several cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Professionally, Marian dedicated many years of service to the Deckerville Community Hospital, where she held various positions before retiring from the pharmacy department. Her work ethic and caring nature left a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients.

A devoted Christian, Marian's faith was an integral part of her life. She was a dedicated member of the Deckerville Bible Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 60 years. Her commitment to sharing the teachings of the Bible was unwavering, as was her participation in the Ladies Bible Class, where she both learned and inspired.

Marian's interests outside of work and church were varied and heartfelt. She was an avid quilter and seamstress, with each stitch reflecting her meticulous attention to detail and her love for creating beauty. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, as she tended to her plants with the same care she gave to her relationships.

Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and friendly, Marian's legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless giving. She touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and warm smile, leaving a void that cannot be filled.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Grace Woodard. Her life will be celebrated and remembered as one of profound impact and enduring love. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the many blessings she brought to our lives. Marian J. Hooper's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
