Mary Lou Gibbs, 81, of Sandusky. With much sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend to many. She passed away at home with her loving family by her side on October 24, 2025. Mary Lou was born in Detroit, Michigan September 10, 1944 to the late Raymond L. Hunsinger Sr. and Beulah (McCoskey) Hunsinger. After Moving to the Deckerville area in 1958 she attended Deckerville Community School. She married Edward (Ted) Gibbs in 1962 and together they had five children. Together they built a successful family farm. Mary Lou was a volunteer with a reading program for the children in elementary school, worked in the activity department of Autumn Wood Nursing Home in Deckerville and loved every minute of it. Throughout the years she was very active in the Deckerville Hospital Auxiliary, Deckerville League of Women, Lioness Club, TOPS, and many other community organizations. She was a family member of the Holy Family St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. Mary Lou was always there for her family, friends, or anyone who needed her. She loved to laugh, sing, play softball in her younger years as well as bowling on a women’s league. She played euchre as often as she could and hosted a Wednesday afternoon card club and an occasional casino trip was not out of the question. But Mary Lou’s most enjoyment was the cherished time she spent with her family. Surviving are her children, Lisa (Andy) Bradley, Daniel Gibbs, and Sheila Gibbs, grandchildren, Jadelyn Bradley, Hadley and Colton Gibbs, Chase and Braydon Simkiss, twin sisters, Kathy Kitchen and Karen Hunsinger, many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted, two sons, Kevin and Brian, two brothers, Raymond Jr. and Gary Hunsinger Sr. All her family were the loves of her life and she will be sorely missed.
