Mayme Elizabeth (Pattullo) Decker, age 79, went Home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2008, from her daughter?s home in Livonia.
Mayme was born to the late Harold and Mabel Pattullo on April 8, 1929. She worked as a teacher for a short time before she was married to Bruce M. Decker in June of 1951. They farmed outside of Deckerville for many years. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1986.
After her husband?s death, Mayme moved into Deckerville where she enjoyed her family, her friends and work, her dogs, and her flowers. For many years, she enjoyed the fellowship of the Christians who meet at the Mills Gospel Hall. Mayme worked at the Senior Meal Site in Deckerville for a number of years, then at the Deckerville Library, until her retirement in 2007.
In May of 2007, ill health forced Mayme to relocate to her daughter?s home in Livonia, where she was lovingly cared for by her family until she went Home to Heaven.
Mayme is survived by two daughters and two sons and their spouses: Eunice (David) Slocum of Jackson, Katherine (Gerald) Clark of Livonia, Kenneth (Irene) Decker of Deckerville, and Timothy (Julie) Decker of Bloomington, Illinois. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her. Mayme was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Twiss. She is survived by her twin sister, Marion Pattullo, as well as sisters, Doris Twiss and Sharon (Murray) Metcalf, her brothers, Roger Pattullo, Harley (Janet) Pattullo, and Robert (Sue) Pattullo, and sister-in-law, Geraldine Pierson.
Funeral services to honor the memory of Mayme Decker will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 8 at the Apsey Funeral Home your ?Legacy of Life? funeral home in Deckerville. Mr. Larry Perkins and Mr. William Metcalf will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM on Sunday, September 7.
