Michael Broughton

Michael K. Broughton, age 71, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Deckerville passed away March 7, 2018 in his home. He was born May 3, 1946 in Deckerville, the son of the late Ken and Carrie (Baughman) Broughton. Mike grew up in Deckerville and attended Deckerville Community School. He graduated as Valedictorian of his class in 1964. He went to college at the University of Michigan and earned a BA degree in business. He was employed as an accountant for the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. He enjoyed watching U of M sports and the Detroit Tigers. He is survived by two daughters, Jill (Jim) Lemens of Ann Arbor and Katie Broughton of Farmington Hills; one sister, Connie McGregor of Clare; and one brother Alan (Martha) Broughton of Port Sanilac; one grandson Ewan Lemens and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service has been held at Downing Cemetery, Deckerville. Memorials may be given to Best Friends Animal Society at Best Friends.org.
