Monica Ellen Duncan Gamet (née Clay), 70, of Deckerville, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on June 16th, 2024.

She was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on May 31st, 1954, to Herbert William Clay (deceased) and Hattie Jane Clay (deceased).

Monica was preceded in death by her first love Earl Duncan (husband), and survived by her devoted and loving husband Dennis Gamet, her doting siblings Cheryl Teter (David), Sheila Clay (Herb), Larry Clay (Pat) and Daryl Clay (Bonnie), her beloved children Jessica Wardell (Dale), Jeremy Duncan (Amy), and Jordan Duncan (Dusty) as well as her beloved children through marriage Marc Gamet and Stephanie Truss (Ken). She is also survived by her eleven cherished grandchildren, Bradley Wardell, Lindsay Wardell, Chelsea Wardell, Isaac Duncan, Jacob Duncan, Sophie Duncan, Cole Gamet, Ethan Gamet, Sienna Truss, Maddox Truss, and Adrienne Truss, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and endearing friends near and far.

Monica, the youngest of five children, grew up in Dearborn Heights. She graduated from Crestwood High in Dearborn Heights, Michigan in 1972. In 1973 she married Earl, her high school sweetheart. They raised a family together in Garden City. They were active in many churches, including West Chicago Baptist Church (Detroit), Faith Baptist Church (Dearborn Heights), Taylor Center Baptist Church (Taylor) - where she helped run the youth department, Morningstar Church (Garden City) - a church she and Earl founded. She was an entrepreneur, in 1992 she started Michigan Search Company, which is still in operation today and run by her son, Jordan. Monica and Earl remained devoted to each other until Earl went to be with the Lord in 2012.

Monica and Dennis met in 2015 and quickly fell in love with one another. They were married that same year. She worked at Lathers Elementary School in Garden City, a job she greatly enjoyed, until they bought a home together in Deckerville. When they weren’t road tripping across the country, they liked to spend time enjoying the lake with their friends and family. They attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron. She was also involved in many outreach ministries throughout her life. She spent much of her time procuring excess food from bakeries and restaurants and distributing it to people in need.

Monica had a love for life, she always brought a smile to every room she entered. She had a sense of humor, provided much encouragement to others, loved a new adventure and to travel. She had a strong Christian faith and will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service for Monica will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mile City Church (13100 N Haggerty Rd, Plymouth) at 6:00 pm.
