Norma Nichol

Norma Jean Nichol, age 79, of Deckerville, died Friday April 30, 2010 in Mercy-St. Joseph Hospital Port Huron. She was born January 9, 1931 in Applegate the daughter of the late William and Lavina (Johnson) Roskey. She married Harlem Nichol on July 29, 1950 in North Branch. Norma enjoyed raising her family, and was a past employee of Yale Rubber and Autumnwood of Deckerville. She is survived by her husband Harlem of Deckerville, three sons, Alan (Mary) Nichol of Argyle, Dennis (Susan) Nichol of Sandusky, Jeff Nichol of Deckerville, three daughters, Mrs. Joanne (John) Beasley of Dearborn, Miss. Jamie Nichol of Deckerville, Mrs. Laurie (Jeff) Lamont of Lakeport, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Cramer of Sandusky, and Mrs. Marie (Robert) Sleda of Applegate, one daughter-in-law, Cathy Nichol of Croswell, and one sister-in-law Donna Roskey of Applegate. She was preceded in death by one son Bradley Nichol, three brothers, Robert, Stanley, and Melvin and four sisters, Helen, Iva, Gladys, and Dorothy. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Norma Jean Nichol will be 11:00 AM., Monday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Tino will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery.
