Oscar Joseph DeVolder Jr.

Oscar Joseph DeVolder Jr., 91, of Richmond Twp., passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Orchard Grove Senior Living. Oscar was born February 6. 1935 to the late Oscar and Anna DeVolder. Oscar is preceded in death by his loving wife, patricia DeVolder and daughter, MaryAnn DeVolder. He is survived by his children, Victor "Mike" DeVolder, John (Pamnella) DeVolder and Ryan DeVolder; grandchildren, Amber, Robert, Morgan, Artemus, Ivy, Bryden and Isabelle, and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Payton. Oscar was a “Copper” for life, having had a career with the Detroit Police Department. He could never get enough of western and cowboy movies. Oscar loved ballroom dancing wife his wife Patricia, playing his harmonicas, drums and banjo. He was also a “jack of all trades” completing large projects involving house flipping, house building and remodeling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the Peshek Family Funeral Home, 68655 Stoecker Lane, Richmond, MI 48062.

Inurnment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd., Clinton Twp., MI 48038.
