Quinn J. Jones, 81 of Sandusky, passed away Friday, July 12. Quinn was born in Deckerville on May 11, 1943, to the late Wesley and Dorothy Jones. He married Shari (Shanks) on December 31, 1985, in Carsonville MI. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Operating Engineers Local 324 and retired in May of 2003.  Earlier in his career he worked for two years on the Alaska Pipeline. In 1985, he purchased a hot air balloon and flew passengers locally until 2008. In his “free time” Quinn, with his brother Paul, built a beautiful home in Carsonville in 1995. His family lived there until it was sold in 2023. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcyclist, deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. He had just returned from a 3-day fishing trip to Drummond Island with friends. Quinn is survived by his wife, Shari, daughters Katelynn Jones (Anthony), Kelsey Kendra (Ben) and Kylie Jones; two granddaughters Harper and Avery Kendra; his brother, Paul Jones and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 22, 2024 in the Deckerville First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be given to: Deckerville First Baptist Church PO Box 185 Deckerville.
