Ralph Osborne

Ralph J. Osborne, age 74, of Deckerville, died Sunday August 12, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital. He was born February 5, 1938 in Lake City, SC., the son of the late John W. Osborne and Alma McCall Miles. He married Caroline Ann Vogel on November 7, 1969 in Bad Axe. Ralph worked as a truck driver, specializing in moving mobile homes throughout the United States. In his early years he worked on off shore oil barges in Louisiana and several full service gas stations throughout the south. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR and John Wayne movies, along with spending special time with his grandchildren. Ralph is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol of Deckerville, one son Spencer (Melissa) Osborne, two daughters, Ms. Colette Osborne and Mrs. Coleen (Craig) Stone all of Deckerville, seven grandchildren, Devin, Derek, Trevor, Ryan, Haley Osborne, and Payton Stone., two sisters, Ms. Chessie Rogers of SC., and Ms. Marcella Thies, of SC., his in-laws, Lou (Jerome) Kolar, Art (Kate) Vogel, Mary (Laverne) Shemka, John (Elaine) Vogel, Eve (Roger) Stolicker, Lawerence (Pat) Vogel, Betty Vogel, Frank (Nancy) Vogel, Catherine Cleveland , Theresa (Tom) Kahlo, sisters-in-law, Jane Vogel and Virginia Vogel, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Kaylla Marie Osborne, one brother Jack Carraway, one sister Mattie Kirby, In-laws, Adolph and Adella Vogel, Brothers-in-law Bill, Charlie, and Tony Vogel and Eugene Kubacki. Funeral services for Ralph Osborne will be 1:00 PM., Wednesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. FR. Charles Hammon will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 PM., Tuesday and 11:00 AM., until the time of service on Wednesday. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM., on Tuesday.
