Retha R. Van Norman, age 90, of Deckerville, died Saturday October 10, 2009, in Autumnwood of Deckerville. She was born November 5, 1918 in Flint, the daughter of the late Roy and Nina (Smith) McGregor. She married Donald Van Norman August 27, 1937 in Downington. Mrs. Van Norman was a member of the Deckerville Bible church. She enjoyed children, and snowmobiling. She sold Avon, worked at Deckerville Community Schools as a cook, and worked at Kerbyson?s Meats as a meat wrapper. She is survived by her husband, Donald, two sons, Larry (Judy) Van Norman, and Jerry (Carol) Van Norman all of Deckerville. One daughter Beth Anne Gwinn of TN. Four grandsons, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson. One sister Mrs. Nonalee McConnachie of Deckerville, and two brothers, Rex McGregor of Mio, and Russell McGregor of Traverse City, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Retha R. Van Norman will be 11:00 AM., Tuesday in the Apsey Funeral Home, your ?Legacy of Life? funeral home. Rev. Jeff Homan will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday. Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Bible Church or United Hospice.
