Richard Hunt

J. Richard Hunt, age 86, of Palms, died Wednesday November 21, 2012 in Shannondale Nursing Home Maryville, TN. He was born December 16, 1925 in Deckerville, the son of the late Sidney and Alice (Fagan) Hunt. Richard married Miss. Beatrice Roberts on October 29, 1949 in Palms. He was a life long area farmer, member of the Knights of Columbus, a former ASC committeeman, served on the Board of the Minden City Oil and Gas Co., also the Board of the Farmer's Elevator in Minden City. He enjoyed playing cards, Golfing, Bowling, and working in his woods. He was also a long time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Palms. Richard is survived by his wife, Beatrice of Palms, three sons, Larry (Carol) Hunt of Vonore, TN., John (Becky) Hunt of Loudon, TN., Michael (Renee) Hunt of Zionsville, IN., two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Havard of Alto, MI., and Linda Hunt of Seattle, WA., nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister Mrs. Maxine Varty. A funeral mass to celebrate the life of J. Richard Hunt will be 11:00 AM., Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fr. Peter Nwokoye will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 on Sunday in the Apsey Funeral Home, and from 10:00 AM., until the time of service at church on Monday.
