Robert L. Rich

Robert "Bob" L. Rich, 78, of Deckerville passed away on January 15, 2017 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron. He was born on May 5, 1938, to the late Elton and Pearl Rich. He married Sherryl Pelton on June 11, 1960, in Shabbona. Robert spent most of his senior year in Alaska and then returned that year to graduate from Deckerville High School in 1958. Robert farmed all of his life on the family farm and also worked Campaign at Michigan Sugar as a lift truck driver in Croswell for 31 years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Sandusky, Army National Guard and Marion Lodge No. 392 of Deckerville. Robert enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and playing cards. He is survived by his wife Sherryl, of 56 years, his children Connie (Robert) Marshall of Lexington, Jeff (Anita) Rich of Deckerville, Brenda (Paul) Warczinsky of Lake City and Kevin (Latisha) Rich of Sandusky, along with seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Wyman (Shirley) Rich of Sandusky. He was proceeded in death by one grandchild, Jim Dials. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Pm. Wednesday January 18, 2017 in the Apsey Funeral Home, with Elder Don Rudy and Priest Brian Augnston officating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM on Tuesday and 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Community of Christ Church of Sandusky or Marion Lodge No. 392 of Deckerville.
