Sharon Bittner, 82 of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on April 8,2023. She was born Sharon Audrey Fetting, on September 24,1940 in Sandusky MI, where she grew up and lived with her loving family.
Mother and Father, Hilda and Auborn Fetting, and brother and sisters, Paul Fetting, Carol(Rockefeller)Fetting, Margaret(Fletcher)Fetting, and Alice(Smith)Fetting.
In 1961 she married William Robert Bittner and moved to Palms, MI, where they gave birth to and raised five children. Dawn (Goodknecht) Bittner, Robert Bittner, Leslie(Buerkle) Bittner, Richard Bittner, and Jason Bittner.
Sharon had an incredible love of family and throughout her lifetime mothered and loved not only her children, but everyone in her family.
When her children grew up and started school, Sharon started work at Dott Manufacturing, in Deckerville MI. She began to be active in, and eventually became president of the URW local Union at Dott's. She made many friendships while working at Dott's, and throughout her lifetime told many funny and heartwarming stories of the friends and people she worked with.
Some of her favorite days came from spending a Game Day with her sisters, where they would spend full days playing "friendly" games of Aggravation, or cards, while eating good food and trading good natured insults.
But Sharon was never so happy as when she became a grandmother, and eventually a Great Grandmother. She loved her many grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart and spent as much time as she possibly could with them.
Some of her hardest days came from watching her beloved oldest daughter, Dawn, and her sister Carol battle, and ultimately die from breast cancer. She was by their sides and cared for them until the end.
After this hardship, she became involved with her church, where she met loving friends that helped her heal from these losses. She became active in and took solace from the community of her church, and it gave her peace in her final days, knowing that she would be reunited with her lost family members again.
We will celebrate Sharon's life on the 29th of April at Apsey Funeral Home in Deckerville, MI.
The visitation will start at 9:30, and service will be at 11:30.
